Jastrzębia Local government: Ciężkowice |
The Parish Church of St. Bartholomew in Jastrzębia was probably erected in the first half of the C16th (it is first mentioned in1529). In 1965-66 during comprehensive repairs the building was partially transformed on the basis of a design by Z. Zjawin. At that time it lost many stylistic features, with for instance a large part of the late-gothic wood-carving detail being removed. The church interior is covered by a flat ceiling. The baroque rood beam dates from the C18th. The walls are decorated with figurative-ornamental polychrome by Włodzimierz Kunz from 1969 and the remnants of previous polychrome from 1899. |
