Bukowina Tatrzańska gmina: Bukowina Tatrzańska |
The construction of the People’s House was initiated by the teacher of the school in Bukowina, Franciszek Ćwiżewicz. The building was erected by the efforts of the inhabitants of Bukowina and the Society of Friends of Bukowina in the years 1928–1932. The two-story building has a stone foundation. It is built on a polygon plan, the main axis of which is an elongated rectangle with side wings attached – smaller in front and bigger in the rear part. The front is supported on 4 poles. The roofs of all parts are shingled. There are characteristic highlander decoration motifs called “słoneckos”, and carved “pazdurs” on the ridge. Nowadays, the facility – just like in the past – serves culture by housing the Bukowina Culture Centre “People’s House”. |
